Chinook Fund quickly recognizes the need to support the LGBTQIA movement in Denver. During the Reagan era, when Americans were witnessing a conservative shift in politics that closely resembled the closeted culture of the ‘50s, Chinook Fund begins moving resources to grassroots organizations addressing civil rights issues and responding to the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
